Founded in 1982, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times' mission is to create a positive, long lasting impact on children with cancer and their families by providing fun filled, medically supervised, cost-free year-round camp programs.

A cancer diagnosis translates into the end of life as a child knows it, replacing the innocence of childhood with continuous medical appointments, painful treatments and an unknown and frightening future. Depending on the type of cancer, quite often children diagnosed with cancer live with lasting disabilities, such as vision loss, amputations or developmental delays. In addition, children suffer emotionally and their spirit becomes dampened, as well.

For children who are battling their disease, a week at Camp is not just a week away from home. It is a chance for them to see beyond their cancer and experience a world of unexpected possibilities. At Camp, they horseback ride, swim, fish, and participate in so many other activities, all adapted to meet the special needs of our amazing campers. The medically and emotionally safe environment allows them to be surrounded by friends who know and understand their fate. They make lifelong friends and gain self-esteem and independence. Most importantly, they recapture some of the childhood innocence that their disease has taken from them.

We are so grateful to Speedway Children's Charities for partnering with us to serve our Las Vegas area campers and making a difference in their lives.
