As a premiere field trip destination for Clark County area schools, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum is able to touch the lives of many children in our community.  However, schools that are deemed "at-risk" are often unable to afford the costs associated with a field trip.  That is where our Open Door Program comes into play.

The Open Door Program allows children from "at-risk" schools to visit the Museum free of charge.  Organizations, including Speedway Children's Charities, sponsor the children's admission fees.  An organized school field trip is often the only opportunity many of these children will have to experience what the Museum offers.  This program allowed almost 17,000 children to tour the Museum in 2008.
