LAS VEGAS - Seats are available for Speedway Children's Charities' fourth annual "Cards for Kids" Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Cannery Hotel & Casino. The charity event will kick off the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Tournament players will test their poker skills against some of the top NHRA drivers, including Brandon Bernstein, Cory McClenathan, Greg Anderson, Hillary Will, J.R. Todd, Morgan Lucas, Dave Connolly, "Fast" Jack Beckman, Allen Johnson, Justin Humphreys, and Doug Foley. Rich Bennett, a member of the band The Formula Project whose song "The Choice" serves as the ESPN clip montage theme song, also will participate in the event.

Entry fee (buy-in) is $250 and players will receive $1,000 in tournament chips. Players also will receive complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks throughout the evening.

A total prize purse of $5,000 will be up for grabs at the event, with a guaranteed first place prize of $1,400. The top nine players each will receive a piece of the cash prize while other players will have the chance to win a variety of other prizes donated by local businesses. Participants and observers also will have a chance to purchase raffle tickets for the opportunity to win various prizes throughout the night, as well as specials on Budweiser and Bud Light bottles courtesy of Nevada Beverage.

Speedway Children's Charities (www.speedwaycharities.org) is a non-profit foundation based in Charlotte, N.C., that distributes funds to charities and foundations providing medical, emotional and social services to children in need.

Last December, The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities granted $299,000 to 64 local children's causes during its annual grant distribution ceremony.
