The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities held the Silverton Casino Lodge Charity Golf Tournament Featuring Hootie & The Blowfish June 11, at The Falls Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas. The event kicked off the second half of the 2007 fundraising season.

Hootie & The Blowfish band members Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan and Jim Sonefeld, were on hand Monday to welcome golfers to the course and participate in the tournament. ESPN Pit Reporter and Las Vegas native Jamie Little also took time to play a round of golf after returning from the NASCAR Busch Series race in Dover two days before. Golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf on an award winning golf course, an awards luncheon, silent auction and meet-and-greet with the celebrities on hand.

The event was the fourth fundraiser so far of the 2007 season, helping the chapter step closer to their fundraising goals for the year. In October the group hosted the NHRA Cards for Kids Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament, followed by the Ninth Annual NASCAR Driver Auction in March and the Mel Larson Night of Champions honoring Ken Black in April.
